When does the mega union happen on the big screen---very
seldom-may be once in 2 decades-- quite honestly we have not truly
seen one worthy of mention since 1980's-- during that time we saw
the top ranking stars make their presence - not as a couple but in
multiple couples--some movies worth mentioning are Chupke Chupke,
Deewar, Sholay, and Kabhi Kabhi.
Finally, at the end of this year
we will see one of the legendry hit pairs of 1970's and 1980's
being paired with the most popular stars of today. The chemistry
of the badshah Shah Rukh and Kajol is one of the best ones we have
witnessed in the last few years--having given us hits like
Baazigar, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, and Kuch
Kuch Hota Hai. Then again we have the two stars that have created
a unique mania-Hrithik and Kareena. We will see the four of them
together along with the most talked about real life couple,
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi
Ghum.
The public expections are running very high. This was to be a
Diwali release a traditional family celebration time. However, as
Ramadan this year is during the same month as Diwali it is assumed
that Karan will delay the release of the movie by one month. All
the better for his collections. Families will celebrate the
traditional Xmas and the holiday month of December in theatres all
around the world to watch the most awaited movie of the year,
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum.
According to the grapevine, the movie is all about family
relationships. First, we have the grandmother, Asha Sachdev, her
son and daughter in law, Amitabh and Jaya and their one adopted
son, Shahrukh Khan and one biological son, Hrithik Roshan. As soon
as Shahrukh finds out he has been adopted, he chooses to leave the
family ignoring the love of the family, especially that of his
younger brother Hrithik, who absolutely worships him. Hritik baba
is left behind totally devasted. Now enter Kajol and Kareena
straight into the hearts of the two brothers. We must now wait and
see how they transform the lives of the two separated brothers. Is
it now going to be all happiness time after the Ghum period?
Now, we must remember that Karan Johar has given us one of the
biggest blockbuster in the last millinieum. It was one of those
rare movies where love and happiness very quickly overshadowed the
sadness. From very young to the elders were awed by the movie.
Keeping in mind the rare and unique combination of the super stars
in this movie we can expect better moments and results. Can we expect better?
