World Peace

World Peace
Review by Ajay Pamneja.
Album released by Stoned asia Music on Kicking Music label (June 2003)
This album comes from the man who has established himself as the king of trance and chill-out music -
DJ Pathaan.
The album World Peace is no political album, but a journey into the world of peaceful music offering the vibe & atmosphere to lie back and offer a prayer for World Peace
through some excellent selection and mixes of groovy classical/world music.
First track sets the trend with a classical vocal music by Abhijit Pohankar from Northern India perfectly mixed. The second offers
MIDIval Punditz in a similar tone and beautiful vocals followed by a more upbeat track from Kaya Project with beautiful chants. This album holds absolute gems from the likes of
Ikarus, The Dum Dum Project, Fun-da-mental, Jean Claude, Trilok Gurtu and many others. The sounds of sitar, santoor, ethnic drums mixed with the techno beats and more global sounds are an absolute treat for the senses.
No doubt there are some excellent musicians around who can produce some world class music, but a compilation like this needs a visionary, a musician extra-ordinaire who can add that little extra to the tracks to come up with such a polished product of absolute genius and joyful listening. This album never fails to instill hope and enjoyment.
A worthy follow-up to his earlier album Small World.
